Angela Yee, a celebrated media personality and entrepreneur, has long been a champion of supporting Black-owned businesses.

From self-care essentials to stylish apparel, her curated picks reflect her dedication to quality, authenticity, and community.

In this episode of Shoppe Black’s “Favorites” series, Angela shares her top Black-owned brands, why she loves them, and what makes them stand out.

1. IBest Wines

“This goes without saying! I am not the most experienced wine drinker, but Ingrid Best’s products, particularly the white wine, do it for me every time. Everyone I recommend it to loves it. Plus, it’s made in South Africa, which is a region we don’t affiliate with wine the way we should.”

2. Andrea Iyamah

“I first purchased her swimsuits without being familiar with the brand because I loved the textures and designs. I ended up buying more of her bold and colorful rompers. They’re easy to wear, and I get compliments on them all the time. I even wore them to the iHeart Music Festival this year. I love her clothes so much I had to do a deep dive to find out who she is!”

3. Encina Wellness

“This is August Alsina’s skincare line, and I faithfully use the stripped powder exfoliator daily. It is gentle enough to use regularly but gives my skin the treatment I need in between facials.”

4. K Sol Cleaning Products

“Ever since I received these cleaning products, I tell people to support. They’re eco-friendly, organic, and smell amazing. I love to see a Black woman in this space because I know how obsessive I am about cleaning but also about making sure I use products that aren’t too harsh for my house and my lungs.”

5. Urban GLŌ Candles

“I keep these at home and in my studio. I met Salimah through her Shopify store, and she has since opened a beautiful brick-and-mortar location in Union, NJ. The candles are non-toxic (do that research about how important it is to purchase candles that aren’t harmful for you!), and she even does candle-making classes.”
