Martin Lawrence shared an update on Jamie Foxx’s health following the actor, comedian and singer’s recent hospitalization.
During Thursday’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, the Martin actor revealed Foxx is recovering days after suffering an undisclosed “medical complication.”
“I hear [Foxx] is doing better… My prayers go out for him every night, and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood. Not only one of the best entertainers but a good person,” Lawrence told Extra.
On April 12, Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, took to Instagram to share the news of her father’s hospitalization.
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she shared. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
When news broke of Foxx’s health scare, Lawrence shared his support for the fellow funny man on Instagram, writing, “My family and I are lifting you up in prayer. Much love and many blessings my brotha.”
Foxx was in Atlanta filming his next project, Back in Action, a Netflix movie directed by Seth Gordon and co-starring Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou and Cameron Diaz at the time of his hospitalization.
People magazine reported the film was “shut down” following Foxx’s health complication but has since resumed filming with a stand-in filling in for the Sleepless actor.
